It was the beginning of a most fruitful partnership, pairing the maestro’s craft, guile and horsemanship with a horse whose willingness, courage and exhilarating turn of foot executed perfectly his connections astute plans. Winner of Four Group one races in 1992, the parnership concluded with a thrilling win in the Champion Stakes st HQ and Roy’s superb study of the pair captures the ‘Classic Combination’ at HQ where the colt was trained, brilliantly by Peter Chapple-Hyam.
