Description
An original oil painting by Peter Deighan. The winner of all of his four races, Lammtarra will undoubtedly hold a special place in the heart of his jockey, Frankie Dettori. After winning the Derby under Walter Swinburn, Frankie gained the ride for the King George and Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes at Ascot, the mid-summer championship race and after winning Frankie was heard afterwards to say that Lammtarra had the heart of a Lion after getting back up to beat the top class Pentire. Lightly raced, he showed his class that day but also undeniable tenacity which would stand him in good stead later. Still learning his trade at this point, Frankie was excited to retain the ride for the 1995 Prix de L’Arc de Triomphe and on the first Sunday in October in 1995, Frankie realised the first of his many ambitions by winning the greatest race in Europe, his very first Prix de L’Arc de Triomphe. Commissioned by our MD, Peter Deighan has captured Frankie brilliantly in his post race celebrations while, equally, he highlights the tenacity with which Lammtarra strained every sinew to reach the winning post for his young rider. A superb Original oil painting by Peter, beautifully and elegantly framed measuring approximately 76 x 65cm. A genuine collectors item, a unique work of art and now available for sale in pristine condition…
